August 20 Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference Update - MTSAs, Infrastructure Needs, Fiscal Reform and more

Today at the 2024 Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference, Councillor Rory Nisan and I met with MPP Kinga Surma, Minister of Infrastructure, where we discussed our MTSAs and ongoing need for infrastructure funding for the City of Burlington. It was great to have Burlington MPP Natalie Pierre join the delegation.

In my role as Ontario's Big City Mayors Chair, I also met with Matthew Rae, Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, and MPP Sylvia Jones, Minister of Health, to discuss the Solve the Crisis campaign.

I closed out the day at the Minister’s Forum, where I was able to ask the provincial government about municipal fiscal reform - a new deal for all cities.
