New Trail Funding to Enhance Burlington's Natural Beauty and Accessibility

I’m delighted to share that Burlington is the recipient of $200,000 in new funding through FedDev Ontario’s Tourism Growth Program. This investment will help us create a looped trail that connects Tyandaga Golf Clubhouse to the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail, further enhancing our city’s remarkable network of outdoor spaces. Construction of the new trail is expected to begin in late fall, with an anticipated opening in the winter.

Our natural spaces and trails are a cornerstone of what makes Burlington such a special place to live, work, and visit. Nestled at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment—a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve—Burlington is home to a wealth of natural beauty. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or someone looking for a leisurely walk with family, this new trail will provide residents and visitors alike with greater access to our unique landscape, and add more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and connect with nature.

I want to thank City staff for advocating for this funding, as well as FedDev Ontario and the Federal Government for their generous support of this initiative. Investments like these are essential for enhancing our local tourism offerings and enriching the quality of life for everyone in Burlington.
