17 alcohol violations in Spencer Smith Park, beach, pier, parking garage; 222 traffic tickets issued in Ward 2

burlington dispatchThe June/July Burlington Dispatch from the Halton Regional Police Service is now out, providing information by Ward on traffic, community events, and criminal activity, as well as tips for residents to stay safe.   • Officers have actively been patrolling the Burlington beach strip, Spencer Smith Park, Locust Parking garage and the Brant Street Pier by foot and on bicycles. Of note, 17 Provincial Offence Notices were issued in Ward 2 that were alcohol related in above listed locations. Three were issued for a person under 19 years having liquor, 10 for being intoxicated in a public place, 3 for consuming liquor in other than licensed area, and 1 for having liquor in an open container. Officers will be continuing these patrols throughout the summer.

 

  • Approximately 116 Provincial Offence Notices were issued in Ward 2 in June, and approximately 106 in July. Of those issued charges included: careless driving, drivers using cellphones while driving, failing to wear seatbelts, and speeding.
