2022 Mayor's Award Nominations Now Open

Our partners at the Burlington Chamber of Commerce have once again invited me to bestow an award of recognition as part of their annual Business Excellence Awards.The Mayor's awards have evolved many times over the years, often focusing on philanthropy, community engagement, and sustainability.This year, the Chamber has asked me to select a business that has exemplified some of the characteristics we have come to appreciate more than ever before in the past year: RESILIENCE. CHANGE. INNOVATION. CREATIVITY.We have all seen businesses in Burlington pivot and adapt in ways they never expected so that they could meet the evolving needs of our community amidst the limitations and obstacles of a global pandemic. They changed their product and service assortments. They moved their businesses online. They did curbside pickups and front porch drop offs. They found virtual ways to connect with customers. They kept their employees and customers safe.This year, I invite you to send me your nominations and share with me what business impressed YOU most in the past year. Simply tell me the name and address of the business and how you saw them display resilience, change, innovation and creativity.
