BDBA Announces Lineup for 5th Annual Burlington Comedy Festival

*Please see below a media release issued by the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA).BURLINGTON — Going into its fifth year, the annual Burlington Comedy Festival in partnership with the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA) will celebrate the very best of stand-up and variety comedy, Feb. 21-23, 2020.With 8 amazing shows at 3 Burlington venues — The Waterstreet Cooker, The Lodge at Emma’s Back Porch and the Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB). The Burlington Comedy Festival has outdone itself with amazing, well-known comics performing at small intimate venues. Based on limited seating, we are expecting to sell out all the performances.Headlining our finale show, one of Canada's most respected and loved comedians, Daryn Jones, host of CBC’s Daryn Jones Live and correspondent for The Rick Mercer Report, will be at the AGB for the Best of the Fest show, Sunday, Feb. 23.2020 Burlington Comedy Festival-goers won’t want to miss another stellar lineup that will also feature Canadians Graham Chittenden, Ron Josol, DeAnne Smith and Rob Bebenek, along with American stand-up comedians Shayne Smith and Alex Falcone.In addition to the evening shows, we will be bringing back the Family Variety Comedy Show to offer something fun for all ages. Featuring, magicians, jugglers and a classic Strong Man; Mighty Mike! on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at the AGB.New this year and in celebration of the fifth anniversary, we will be presenting two Comedy Cabaret shows featuring TV magician and star of Discovery Channel’s Wizard Wars, Billy Kidd, along with Master Illusionist David Garrity and World Record Holding Yo-Yo champion Mark Hayward. Together with guest stand-up comedians, these shows are sure to be one of the festival favourites.Since the inception of this event, we have partnered with local charities and 2020 will see the return partnership of the Gift of Giving Back organization.We will also once again be offering limited “Food and Funny” combo deals that include a discounted ticket, food voucher from Emma’s Back Porch and the Pepperwood bistro.
