A virtual pre-application community is being hosted by Better Life Retirement for a proposed development it is considering at 4103 Palladium Way on Tuesday, March 30 from 7-9 p.m.The site is located within Burlington's Ward 6. The City of Burlington has created a pre-application project webpage at www.burlington.ca/4103palladiumway where you can sign up for email notifications to stay up to date.A public notice is being mailed out to all properties within 120 metres of the property and should be arriving in mailboxes early next week. This letter is to notify you that a Virtual Pre-Application Consultation Meeting is being held for a proposal to develop 4103 Palladium Way for the purpose of a new Retirement Home, in addition to the long term care facility previously approved. As a nearby land owner, you are invited to attend this virtual meeting on Thursday, March 30th, 2021 at 7 p.m.The meeting will be hosted by staff of Better Life Retirement and their technical experts. City Planning staff, Ward Councillor Angelo Bentivegna and Mayor Marianne Meed Ward will also be in attendance.The meeting will provide an overview of the planning process that will be required to accommodate the proposed development, and to obtain community feedback prior to the submission of a Local Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications.The proposed development is a Retirement Home with approximately 120 beds in conjunction with the previously approved Long Term Care Facility for the subject property. The primary use of the Retirement Home is proposed in a six (6) storey building in a form shown on the drawing below. Please note the design is currently being revised as a result of initial feedback received from the City of Burlington during a pre-consultation meeting with the City. The most up-to-date drawings will be available for viewing at the meeting.No applications have been submitted at this point and no decisions have been made by the City.The Pre-application Consultation Meeting will generally follow the agenda below:

  • 7:05-7:10 p.m. -- Citizen Guide to the Planning Process
  • 7:10-7:20 p.m. -- Project Overview
  • 7:20–8:30 p.m. -- Question and Answer Period
  • 8:30-8:35 p.m. -- Wrap Up and Next Steps
