Burlington City Staff to Report Back on Parking Options for Beachway & Lowville Parks in Q1 2021

At the Environment, Infrastructure and Community Services (EICS) Committee meeting on Monday, Nov. 9, committee members carried the following Recreation Services Department staff recommendation related to Parking capacity measures at Beachway and Lowville Park:
- Refer recreation services department report RS-09-20 regarding parking capacity measures at Beachway and Lowville Parks to staff to report back to the Environment, Infrastructure and Community Services Committee in Q1 of 2021 outlining options with regards to parking at Beachway and Lowville parks including but not limited to communication, beautification, infrastructure, and costing options.

Paid parking at Beachway is one of the considerations.MAYOR MEED WARD'S TAKE:This is great work by our City staff and I appreciate their keeping cost-saving measures in mind. I’ll be looking for what each option will cost us, as well as how might be able to implement a reservation system at Beachway. Certainly, as it's a Regional park, we should be having conversations with Halton Region on what lands they can offer to assist with parking and what capital contributions they could make. As well, we should be looking to get some costing on potential decorative barriers and message boards that are responsive.RELATED LINK:
