Burlington's Civic Square Renewal Construction Project to start July 2019

The City of Burlington is making some upgrades to the gathering area of our Civic Square in front of City Hall on Brant Street. After public consultations, information sessions and gathering feedback from you on the design concepts, construction on the revamp project is scheduled to start this July and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2019.The City has budgeted $680,000 for this project, which will include improvements to the space for accessibility, safety and convenience, with an emphasis on it being green and sustainable, long-lasting and welcoming to residents and guests to our city. From the design concepts the City shared with residents, we heard you wanted more shade, flowers, seating and the removal of stairs in the space. This space should not only continue to be inviting and welcoming to our local residents and guests to Burlington, but it should also be versatile, capable of hosting various events in our city. I can't wait to see and experience our new Civic Square.
