Continuing the Dialogue with Burlington's Building Community
I continue to meet regularly with the Halton chapter of the Building Industry and Land Development (BiLD) Association as a regular touch base with our local building community to talk about general issues, what's coming up, a chance to get their feedback, and to talk about how we approve development applications.Today was our fifth meeting and our agenda covered a discussion on inclusionary zoning, affordable housing & public parks with Paula Tenuta, BILD SVP Policy & Advocacy (inclusionary zoning) and Jason Sheldon, Kevin Singh & Shane Cooney, BILD Chair & Halton Chapter Co-Chairs (affordable housing/private & public parks) as well as city updates from Mark Simeoni, the City of Burlington's Director of Community Planning. As always, I found the meeting a great opportunity to share information, learn more about the work we are all doing, and identify areas of common ground. I also spoke to parkland dedication policies and upcoming work in the city on a range of development matters. Here is my presentation from our most recent meeting: BILD Sept 2021
