ssue of the Burlington Dispatch from the Halton Regional Police Service is out, with tips on crime prevention for seniors, how to avoid auto theft, travel tips, and traffic and crime statistics by Ward. Some highlights for Ward 2 are below. The complete report is here: Dispatch - January 2018Traffic InformationDuring the month of January 2018, approximately 185 Highway Traffic Act charges and warnings were issued, officers responded to approximately 71 property damage and personal injury collisions and made 2 impaired driving arrests in Ward 2. Of note, these two charges involved the same vehicle.Officers have responded to one (1) traffic complaint from a resident in Ward 2. Every complaint is investigated and assessed by officers. Residents will receive a follow up email with the results of the investigated findings.Criminal Investigation
The Halton Regional Police Service is currently investigating a series of commercial entries occurring at First Choice Hair Cutters and restaurants throughout Burlington and Hamilton. The entries began in September of 2017 and have continued into December of 2017. Halton Regional Police, along with Hamilton Police Service, are currently trying to identify the suspect.Suspect Description (see photos): Male, white, 6'0" +, thin build, 30-40 years old with short brown hair, wearing a black jacket with thin white stripes running up the arms and white decals on the front chest area, dark blue jeans and dark-coloured shoes/boots and black belt.Anyone with information regarding these break and enters or can identify the male suspect responsible for them, is asked to contact Detective Constable Colin MACLEOD of the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau, at 905-825-4747 Ext. 2357.
