About the Burlington Teen Tour Band
The BTTB started in 1947 in a room on top of a store on Brant Street with 75 young and eager musicians. Since that time the BTTB has grown into Canada's Premier youth marching band, performing 60 to 80 times per year.
Performing in parades, field shows, concerts, special events, TV and movie shoots, this group of Burlington youth is nicknamed "the Redcoats" and has become "Canada's Music Ambassador."
Join the BandTo become a member, bandmates must be 13-21 years of age. New members can join anytime throughout the year. No experience is required, and all playing levels are accepted. Don’t play an instrument? Not to worry. The band provides unique opportunities for individual growth through increased responsibilities, discipline, and teamwork. It improves musical abilities, provides physical activity through marching and is a recreational outlet for teens. Travel also provides a valuable educational experience. For more information on the band, visit teentourband.org.MY TAKE:The Burlington Teen Tour Band has always done a fantastic job representing the city all over the world. The documentary shows just a small fraction of the dedication these musicians put into their band. I wish the film the best of luck at the film festivals.
