EPUC Child Care Centre Community-Funded Project Breaks Ground Next Week
*Please see below a media release issued by the EPUC Child Care Centre.Burlington Community Creates Vital Essential Service for Local ChildrenBURLINGTON - Aug. 4, 2020 - As daycare becomes more vulnerable and the pandemic puts more pressure on working parents, an Aldershot community has come up with a safe long-term solution that offers quality, low cost, child care for local children.Led by Paul Echlin, this multi-million dollar, community funded initiative has been five years in the making, and will be ready with a non-binding wait list for January 2021. The project will break ground next week.

The new Not-For-Profit non-denominational EPUC Child Care Centre is a new 73-space, year-round child care for families in Aldershot. East Plains United Church has donated $250,000, and the project has been supported by all levels of government with the participation of Burlington MP Karina Gould, Burlington MPP Jane McKenna, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, Burlington Councillor Kelvin Galbraith, and Halton Regional Commissioner Alex Sarchuk.Business and philanthropic leaders Mr. Ron Foxcroft and Mr. Norman Wells have volunteered their expertise, Svedas Architects Inc, Stephen Robert Hitchcox Architect, Berkim Construction Inc, Belfor Property Restoration, Brant Electric Ltd, Carson Law Office PC, Shields O’Donnell MacKillop LLP, GESCO Group of Companies, Eden Tile and Michael Dudar have all supported planning and initial construction preparation.Aldershot projects growth of 27,000 people in the next 10 years.
