Summary:

The new guidelines section a sidewalk into four parts:

1. Marketing zone, where businesses put out benches or wares
2. Clear path zone, for unobstructed walking
3. Furnishing zone, for benches, trees, lights
4. Edge zone, between sidewalk and street

The guidelines further divide the downtown into four character areas with different treatments in each, some more traditional, some more modern.1. Lakeshore Road
