Legal settlement reached for residents of 2411 New St. condo

Lawyers for the City of Burlington's insurer and four other defendants have settled the litigation case involving residents living in the 2411 New St. condo, ongoing since 2011.For background on the case, see a previous blog post from 2016 and a more recent article from InsideHalton.com.The total settlement amount for the residents involved was $2 million and does not include any admission of liability on behalf of any of the defendants.Lawyers representing all parties are currently finalizing the documentation needed to end the litigation. The six-to-eight-week trial that was set to start in January will no longer happen as a settlement was reached.MY TAKE:This settlement brings closure to a long and difficult chapter for the residents of 2411 New St. I'm thankful to all parties for working together to reach a settlement, so everyone can now move forward.
