LPAT sides with city/citizens, rejects Blue Water/Avondale town overdevelopment; great victory for community!!

The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (which replaced the Ontario Municipal Board) has just released its decision in the Blue Water/Avondale townhouse proposal, and has sided with the city. The LPAT reject the applicants appeal of the city’s refusal of the plan. This is great news for the community, which rallied and presented credible evidence at council (which voted against the proposal) and at the LPAT hearing that this was overdevelopment and inappropriate in a single family area on the waterfront lacking city services. Well done to staff and citizens. This is a victory for proper development in the community.Read the decision here: PL161244-JUL-11-2018Read earlier articles on Blue Water Avondale here:https://mariannemeedward.ca/development/council-unanimously-rejects-35-unit-townhouse4-semi-proposal-single-family-neighbourhood/https://mariannemeedward.ca/development/sale-waterfront-land-marketst-paul-streets-cited-no-public-shoreline-proposed-blue-water-project/
