Mark H. Simeoni Announced as Burlington's Director of Community Planning Department

*Please see below a media release issued by the City of Burlington.Burlington, Ont. — Jan. 12, 2021 — The City of Burlington is pleased to announce the hiring of Mark H. Simeoni, MCIP, RPP as the new Director of the Community Planning Department.

Simeoni brings over 30 years of private and public-sector experience in strategic community planning to the City of Burlington. For the past five years, he has served as Director, Planning Services with the Town of Oakville and was responsible for developing short- and long-term strategies and providing leadership and direction to the department. During this period, he oversaw the department implementation of many program improvements and enhancements including the Livable Oakville Review (Official Plan) and consulted on many cross-departmental projects, such as the Parks, Recreation and Library Facilities Master Plan.In addition to being a proud Burlington resident, Simeoni is a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Arts Program in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Laurentian University and is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP). He is also a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).Simeoni will join the Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility Service Group and report to the Executive Director of Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility.Links and Resources:
