Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: August 2-8, 2021

Hello Burlington,Happy August! I hope you have had a wonderful long weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather.COVID numbers in Burlington and throughout Halton Region remain low - great news as we have now spent over two weeks in Stage 3 of the provincial reopening with more socializing, indoor dining, and indoor fitness. Over 350,000 people in Halton have gotten their second doses of the vaccine and I know many of you with second appointments coming up soon.As we see the impact of the Delta variant on unvaccinated populations, we know this is an important part of protecting ourselves, our families and our communities. Just last week we saw Peel Region report that 100% of their new COVID-19 hospitalizations throughout the entire month of June were from unvaccinated residents.
