Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: August 9-15, 2021

Good Morning Burlington,One of the things I have really enjoyed about the past couple of weeks is seeing our country's Olympians excel in Tokyo. From the Canadian women's soccer team beating Sweden for their first-ever gold medal win, to Andre De Grasse's gold medal in the 200m, it has been an inspiring and exceptional games for our country's athletes and their support teams. I think we all appreciate how much extra work it took to get there and perform at this level during a global pandemic. They deserve a hero's welcome when they return home. Congratulations to every competitor and the coaches and families behind them!I visited the Burlington Artscape exhibit yesterday and if you haven't yet seen these amazing works of art in support of Joseph Brant Hospital, you can still catch this event on August 15th and 22nd as well. Visit my instagram for a few photos!Check out my weekly update for the week ahead right here: Mayors Weekly Public Update August 9-15I wish all of you a continued happy and healthy August.~ Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
