Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: December 14-20, 2020
We have a very busy week ahead of us. City Council is taking place today, and Halton Regional Council will take place on Wednesday. In between there are many meetings, and some exciting events where we will be recognizing a couple of amazing people who have contributed greatly to our city (stay tuned for more details). I want to thank everyone who generously contributed to the Warm Hearts & Holiday Wishes campaign for our local veterans and dropped off cozy blankets, slippers and cards for us to distribute this week. I know those gifts and kind words of gratitude will put a smile on many faces this holiday season. For many families, it is the last week of school before the holiday break. I know we are all being thoughtful and trying to find ways to celebrate together while keeping one another safe. It's not easy. This is the year we will look back on and remember how we got creative and made some temporary sacrifices in the name of health and safety. It's the year our children will see how we role-modeled our immense ability to adapt to changing circumstances and find the silver linings. It's the year we will say we made it through a global pandemic. With vaccines on the horizon, we know better days are ahead. We will continue to work together throughout our city, our country, and around the world to create a safer, healthier environment for everyone and get back to the activities we know and love. We will get there. In the meantime, keep being careful and keep being kind.Read the full update for the week ahead here: Mayors Weekly Public Update Dec 14-20
