Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: December 21 - Jan 3, 2020

As the year comes to a close, I want to take an opportunity to thank you for spending time here on this website throughout 2020.We have had over 340,000 views on this site over the past 12 months. It's a testament to how engaged our community is and how you consider this a place you can come to and count on for timely, relevant information. We will continue to meet you here in the years ahead to keep you informed, inspired and connected to what is happening in our great city. Later today there will be more news here as we await the Premier's announcement on additional lockdown measures that may be necessary to help curb the spread of COVID-19.Whether you just celebrated Hannukah, or are looking forward to celebrating Christmas, Kwanzaa or other meaningful cultural or personal occasions, I hope all of you have an opportunity to take some time to be still and rest over the next couple of weeks. 2021 will see us continue to work through the challenges of COVID-19, including vaccine distribution, and we need to restore our energy and spirits in order to handle what's still ahead.Remember to consider all the things we have to be grateful for here in Burlington: selfless healthcare and front-line essential workers, creative and dedicated businesses, a beautiful waterfront, amazing hiking trails and nature, arts and culture, safety and security, and a generous and compassionate community who has shown up every day of this pandemic to help and support one another. I am grateful for all of that and more, and I'm so honoured to be your Mayor. For my update between now and January 3rd, click here: Mayors Weekly Public Update Dec 21-Jan 3Happy Holidays,Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
