Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: Jan 10-16, 2022

Mayor Marianne Meed Ward Weekly UpdateGood morning Burlington,As I learn from more and more of residents' experiences with COVID-19 and the prevalence of the Omicron variant, I continue to be grateful for how many of you stepped up to get vaccinated and boosted over the past year and protect not only yourself and your families, but also our community and our healthcare resources. It is reassuring to hear how many people have encountered mild symptoms - or some with no symptoms at all - and seen the vaccines be successful in mitigating severe illness and hospitalization. These continue to be very challenging times and we must focus on the silver linings to keep our spirits lifted and our hope in tact.I know it is a top priority for every parent to get their children back to school, and my fellow Mayors and I are working on advocacy later today that you will hear more about shortly through this site and my social media channels. The week ahead is a busy one with council committee meetings and you can check out my full update here: Mayors Weekly Public Update Jan 10-16 2022Wishing you each a good Monday and a healthy week ahead.~ Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
