Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: June 20-26, 2022

Good morning Burlington,It was so great to see the Sound of Music festival's successful return to an in-person event in Burlington this past weekend. I hope everyone in the community got a chance to experience the festival fun and see some of their favourite bands performing live.Our regularly-scheduled Council meeting for this month is on Tuesday (June 21) -- click here for the agenda: LINK.As well, Tuesday marks National Indigenous Peoples Day (June is also National Indigenous History Month) -- I encourage everyone to devote time to learn more about the complete history of Canada’s treatment of Indigenous Peoples, while also learning more about the local histories and traditions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities in Canada and celebrating their diversity and resiliency.
