Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: Mar 14-20, 2022

Mayor Marianne Meed Ward Weekly UpdateGood morning Burlington,Wishing all the teachers and educational staff in Halton primary and secondary schools a VERY good week of rest and relaxation as we experience a healthier March Break than we have had in years.Spring is giving us a little preview with the temperature high today being 8C and reaching 16C later in the week. I hope to see many local kids enjoying our parks, basketball courts and bike paths as it starts to warm up a little bit! Does anyone else vividly remember spending some March breaks wearing just shorts and t-shirts? I know I am not imagining that. The week ahead marks March Break for schoolboards in Halton and there's no shortage of things to do around our City. I encourage those in our community who have time off to take advantage of our wonderful green spaces, including at Conservation Halton's Mountsberg. Don't forget, Burlington Public Library offers free Community Access Passes to Conservation Halton parks, our local museums and the Royal Botanical Gardens.Last week, we also heard from Premier Doug Ford announcing Ontario will lift its mask mandate on March 21 --  Burlington City Council and Halton Regional Council will meet March 22 and March 23, respectively, to discuss the lifting of our respective mask bylaws. At City Council, we'll also be discussing our physical distancing bylaw and the State of Emergency declaration. My full weekly update can be found here: Mayors Weekly Public Update March 14-20, 2022~ Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
