Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: Mar 7-13, 2022

Good morning Burlington,Thank you to everyone in our community who came out yesterday to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress-sponsored Stand With Ukraine rally in Civic Square in front of City Hall. I am continuously proud of how supportive and compassionate the people of Burlington are and it was amazing to see the unity and passion for freedom at this important moment in time.International Women's Day arrives tomorrow and this year's theme is #BreakTheBias - where we are asked to truly imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. We have many people in our community working towards these goals every day, and some great local events happening this week.
