Mayor Meed Ward’s Weekly Update: November 22-28, 2021

Good Morning Burlington,Great news last week that vaccines are now approved for children ages 5-11. We should know more about the rollout in the coming days from both the Province and Halton Region and I will share that as soon as I hear. You can learn more in this short video from our local Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Hamidah Meghani. If you have time on your lunch this Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m., my Women of Burlington November lunch panel welcomes guests Laurie Hepburn of Halton Women’s Place, Chondrena Vieira-Martin of Thrive Counselling and Silvia Samsa of SAVIS of Halton. We will be discussing the important issue of domestic violence and the supports available in our community along with other topics that will undoubtedly focus on empowerment and strength. If you would like to join us virtually (no need to be on-screen), just rsvp at mayor@burlington.ca for details of how to log in and watch!A busy week of city and regional business ahead - my update for the week can be found here: Mayors Weekly Public Update Nov 22-28Wishing you all a good Monday!~ Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
