Mayor’s Monday Mailbag – Oct. 24, 2022 – Where Do I Go To Vote in the Burlington Municipal Election?

Welcome to the Mayor’s Monday Mailbag, an initiative Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and the Mayor’s Office launched to share weekly answers to questions from the public we’ve received through our main email inbox at mayor@burlington.ca or the Mayor’s social media platforms.At the end of the month, we publish a roundup of those most pressing questions we’ve received in the weeks prior.Mayor’s Monday Mailbag – Oct. 24, 2022QUESTION:“Where do I go to vote in the Burlington 2022 Municipal Election?”ANSWER:Today is Election Day for the Burlington 2022 Municipal Election.Eligible voters get four (4) votes – for the mayor; ward councillor; regional chair; and school board trustee.To be eligible to vote you must be:

  • A Canadian citizen
  • At least 18 years old
  • Live in Burlington (own or rent), OR
  • Don’t live in Burlington but you or your spouse own or rent property in Burlington
  • Not prohibited from voting under the municipal Elections Act, 1996 or otherwise by law

You can vote at any of the locations in your ward listed further down this post. To vote, bring yourVoter Information Letter you received in the mail from the City of Burlington and one piece of identification showing your name and address. If you didn't receive your Voter Information Letter you can still vote, it will just take a few extra minutes to get you signed in and have your ID checked.Polls are open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Results should be available starting around 9 p.m. You can watch the results as they come in on the Results Page at myvoteburlington.caWhat to bring when you voteBefore heading out to a voting location on Election Day, remember to bring:

  • your Voter Information Letter (it will save you time when you check-in) – if you do not have a Voter Information Letter, you can still vote;
  • one piece of ID that has your name and address on it. Accepted ID includes:
