Welcome to the Mayor’s Monday Mailbag, an initiative Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and the Mayor’s Office launched to share weekly answers to questions from the public we’ve received through our main email inbox at mayor@burlington.ca or the Mayor’s social media platforms. At the end of the month, we publish a roundup of those most pressing questions we’ve received in the weeks prior.Mayor’s Monday Mailbag – Sept. 18, 2023QUESTION:"I want to renovate my home and make some additions -- where can I go to more information on the steps I need to take to get it approved?”ANSWER:The City of Burlington made some improvements to its website that went live on Aug. 16 to make it easier for residents to find information about home construction and renovation projects they'd like to pursue. Staff worked together with planning, zoning and building to create new webpages and update existing ones to make them more user-friendly and easier to navigate the steps homeowners need to take on their journeys to better and enhance their homes. Our Home Construction and Renovation section is now a landing page that contains important links to other helpful webpages. You can check out the updated Home Construction and Renovation page here: https://www.burlington.ca/en/building-and-renovating/home-construction-and-renovation.aspxBelow, please find a summary of all the changes we've made so far -- and we're not done yet! In the future, we'll keep adding more pages and linking them to our Home Construction and Renovation landing page.New Webpages Created
