Staff recommend not proceeding the Mount Nemo Heritage Conservation District

Mount Nemo PlateauPlanning staff are recommending that the city not proceed with the Mount Nemo Plateau Heritage Conservation District Study. Residents are invited to learn more at the Ward 3 Spring meeting:Date: Monday, May 2Time: 7-8 pmPlace: Conservation Halton Auditorium, 2596 Britannia RoadAt this meeting staff will :

  • Describe the chronology of events of the project
  • Summary community responses received
  • Outline future opportunities to be involved in rural initiatives, including the city's Official Plan Review

Despite this change, staff remain committed to protecting the special character of rural Burlington.

While the City may revisit conducting a heritage study of Mount Nemo in the future, it is not proceeding with the Heritage Conservation District Study at this time.  The decision to not proceed with the Study relates to redirecting resources to address priorities emerging from the Strategic Plan.
