Street improvements continue on New, Courtland, Tallman, Stinson and Drury

With spring weather upon us, road work is continuing on New Street, Courtland Drive, Tallman Avenue, Stinson Avenue and Drury Lane. Below is an outline of the planned work and timelines.

March to May, 2017

New Street from Guelph Line to Cumberland AvenueWatermain installation will continue from Dynes Road to Cumberland Avenue. In addition, replacement of curb and gutter and boulevard restoration impacted by watermain works for this section. There may be some disruption to the water service during this work. Residents and businesses will be given 48 hours notice for scheduled shutdowns. Where possible, shutdowns will be completed at night.

April to June, 2017

Courtland Drive from Woodland Avenue to Drury LaneTallman Avenue – Lorne Street to Drury LaneStinson AvenueDrury Lane intersection at Prospect StreetDrury Lane from New Street to South of Prospect StreetNew Street from Guelph Line to Martha StreetResurfacing and/or top lift of asphalt and installation of speed humps (Courtland Drive and Drury Lane) including associated catch basin and maintenance hole adjustments.

Access to Your Property

During normal construction hours - Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - vehicle access to and from your property may be affected. Driveways will be temporarily closed when work is being done in the area. Either the inspector or the contractor will let you know of any interruptions before a closure.During construction and when your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on neighbouring streets where there is no construction. Register your vehicle for the On-Street Parking Exemption Program at: www.burlington.ca/exemption or 905-335-7844 - 24-hour voice message. The exemption will allow you to park your vehicle(s) on the street beyond the 5-hour limit and overnight between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. All other parking offences apply that are not part of the parking exemption program.
