Burlington Mayor Meed Ward's Weekly Update: Aug 24-30, 2020

To better facilitate a regular and predictable communication of the Mayor's high-level meetings, media engagements, events and communications, my office has developed a weekly update that we will look to share each Monday going forward. While we have always shared social media posts and/or blog posts highlighting the bulk of my public activities and communications as they take place, we feel that this will further support our commitment to being as transparent as possible with the community and add a more proactive element to the sharing of that information. In these updates you will find information relating to meetings I have (council and committee meetings, regular COVID-19 meetings with our crisis communications team and Emergency Control Group (ECG), inter-governmental meetings and conferences, and meetings with developers and community groups). You will also see the plan for the upcoming week in terms of media engagements (tv, radio, instagram live, etc.) and press releases. Community events that I attend in person or virtually will also be included, as will any work-related speaking engagements or professional development programs I am taking. My schedule does change on a frequent basis due to unforeseen events and issues, with impromptu phone calls, events and media taking place as needed, so while this look ahead is not written in stone, it is the working plan for the week ahead as best we know it at the time of posting. This update is as comprehensive as possible to provide the Burlington community with a high-level view into the key activities and priorities of myself and my office. You will often see additional detail from the events and meetings listed here expanded on in my blog or on my social media platforms after they take place, so you can watch those channels for even more insights and information.Read the update for August 24th through August 30th here: Mayors Weekly Public Update Aug 24-30 2020
