The Search for the Next Burlington City Manager is Well Underway
We are well underway in the recruitment process for the new City Manager in Burlington — Tim Commisso signed on to be our Interim City Manager for the first half of this year while the search for a permanent replacement takes place.The City of Burlington has hired the firm of Legacy Partners to assist with the recruitment and resumes are being accepted until April 16. Interviews will take place between the end of April and beginning of May, while it is expected that a new City Manager will be in place by July 2019.

The City Manager is the administrative head of our city of 185,000 highly-engaged citizens and one that offers a unique balance between the rural and urban, situated between the western shores of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario. The position reports to the Mayor and Councillors and provides strategic vision, leadership and guidance on the general management of the corporation as well as participates in the overall direction of the municipality.Council is responsible for making the final selection for this position and has been actively involved with developing the criteria for this integral leadership role.Quick Facts
