Theatre Burlington Kicks Off 70th Anniversary Season

*Please see a news release below issued by Theatre Burlington.To kick off its 70th season, Theatre Burlington invites you to visit “Lunenburg,” the latest in Canadian playwright Norm Foster’s Maritime series.An American widow and her best friend travel to the east coast to visit a house inherited from her recently deceased husband.  A clash of cultures, a secret revealed and an unexpected romance will sweep you away in this heartwarming comedy.Foster is a favourite of community theatre, with location playing an important role, and in this case, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, becomes another character in the play.Jerrold Karch, the director, says he was drawn to the production because of its “down home” feeling. “What’s different about this Norm Foster show, is that it's a touching romantic comedy spawned by a tragic event,” says Karch.The play features a three-person cast — Heather Hunter, Lisa Weeks and Jason Swenor — all seasoned actors from the area. Chuck Learn is the producer.Tickets can be ordered at TheatreBurlington.on.ca or by calling the box office at 905-639-7700.  All main stage shows are $25.Become a season ticket holder for $70 ($65 for seniors) -- all three main stage shows are included, and as an added bonus, you can reserve the same seat for all three.  Starting in the 2023-24 season, main stage shows will also include a Saturday matinee.Show dates are September 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 (September 23 includes a matinee).
