Burlington Mayor Delighted by M.M. Robinson HS Student's Proposal for Solar Panels on City Facilities
Last month, I met virtually with 15-year-old Jayden, a student a M.M. Robison High School, to hear his presentation on solar energy and proposal for solar panels on City facilities.City of Burlington staff Lynn Robichaud, Senior Sustainability Coordinator, and Tom Pedlar, Coordinator of Project Management - Energy, were also in the meeting to share what the City is doing so far in terms of solar energy.
We have solar panels on the new City View Pavilion and the yellow graph in the photo to the right shows when the City is feeding energy back to the grid.I was delighted by Jayden's presentation and impressed by the research and thought he put into his proposal. It's very inspiring to see such environmental awareness and community consciousness in our young people. The future is bright! You can view slides from Jayden's presentation here.- Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
