Renaming proposed for Spencer Smith promenade
The Burl-Oak Naval Veterans have requested that the promenade in Spencer Smith Park be renamed the Naval Veterans Walkway
Skateboarding on streets to be reviewed
As the city tries to encourage more active transportation, we are reviewing rules around using Burlington's streets for wheeled transportation including skateboarding, roller blades, electric scooters and other "emerging vehicles." Currently all of these are prohibited on city streets.

Proposal to Rename Elgin Park to Apeldoorn Park
Recently, I was contacted by members of the Apeldoorn Sub-Committee of the city's Mundialization Committee. This volunteer citizen's committee of City Hall maintains relationships with Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, as recognition of Canada's role in liberating the area during World War II.
