Freedom festival Aug. 5 at Spencer Smith Park

The Halton Black History Awareness is sponsoring the 2017 Halton Freedom Festival, a month of activities August 4 to September 2, 2017 celebrating "community, roots & culture." Some events are ticketed.A full day of free activities is planned for Sat. Aug. 5, 11am to 9pm in Spencer Smith Park, including exquisite musical and dance acts, youth and children's events, artistic/musical and historical forums, and an extensive marketplace of cultural cuisine and memorabilia, historical and community literature and exceptional multi cultural ambiance.For a complete listing of events throughout the month-long celebration visit the organization's website: Halton Black History Awareness Society This is one of several events I am helping to sponsor with a contribution from the Ward 2 events budget.
