New Burlington City Council Committees Start January 2020
Burlington residents, with the start of the new year and another cycle of committee and council meetings comes the launch of the three new City Council Standing Committees that were announced back in 2019. These committees replace our former Committee of the Whole and Planning and Development Committee. The Audit Committee and Council Workshop Committee will remain.Next week, Burlington City Council's Environment, Infrastructure and Community Service (EICS) Committee; Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility (CPRM) Committee; and Corporate Services, Strategy, Risk and Accountability (CSSRA) Committee will meet for the first time.Please see below for more details on what kinds of items each committee will discuss.
- Environment, Infrastructure and Community Service (EICS) Committee — capital works, recreation services, roads, parks and forestry, and fire-department related items;
- Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility (CPRM) Committee — development applications, bylaws, transit and transportation services;
- Corporate Services, Strategy, Risk and Accountability (CSSRA) Committee — city budgets, legal matters, finance, IT services, HR matters, corporate communications and government relations.
