Preparations underway for Sept. 21 Millcroft Greens public meeting

In the last few weeks, myself, your Ward 6 Councillor Angelo Bentivegna, and Ward 3 Councillor Rory Nisan, have had the opportunity to meet virtually or in person with representatives of Millcroft Against Development (M.A.D),  We Love Millcroft and the applicant for Millcroft Greens to discuss the proposed development and the format for the Sept. 21 pre-application public meeting.The meeting will likely be virtual, with potential for limited in person participation, depending on the restrictions on gathering size at that time due to COVID19.

Receive information from the applicant about the proposal.2. Receive information from city planning staff about the planning process.3. Ask questions of the applicant or planning staff.4. Share your thoughts, concerns, suggestions.The applicant is required to show how they incorporated public input into their application. No application has yet been filed, as the public meeting is a required step prior to filing.Some of the additional steps we have agreed to:1. Millcroft Greens to work with city staff, mayor and councillors to send an initial mailing to all households in Millcroft advising them to “Save the Date” for the September 21 meeting.2. A small resident group formed to work with the city to go over all technical details of the meeting.3. Millcroft Greens to pre-record a presentation providing an overview of the proposal; city planning staff to pre-record an overview of the planning process. These will be circulated in advance so residents can be better prepared to ask questions and provide input. This information will be shared via this newsletter and posted on the city’s webpage dedicated to this project. Millcroft Greens - 2155 Country Club Drive4.
