We are making parking easier downtown: digital signs, mobile app, enhancements to parking machines

The Burlington Downtown Parking Committee (I’m a member) has made a number of improvements to downtown parking to make it easier to find and easier to pay for:

  • occupancy sensors in every spot that will give us real-time data on usage (and help us plan where and when to install future parking supply);
  • digital signs in all lots that work with the sensors, so no more circling the block to find a space;
  • Honk Mobile parking app to find and pay for a space;
  • updates to the parking machines to make them easier to use, including easy to follow instructions, increased screen brightness and relocation of the remote server for faster processing.
