Have Your Say on Millcroft Greens Land Development Proposals

Residents currently have three opportunities to provide input on proposals to develop more land at Millcroft Greens golf course (Phase 2) which are outside of the development on Phase 1 approved by the Ontario Land Tribunal:

  1. The City has submitted a request for a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) to preserve parks and open space on Phase 2, the balance of the Millcroft Greens lands. Residents can submit comments in support of this request by July 22 on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO). The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing makes the decision.

  2. Millcroft Greens has submitted a separate MZO request to permit development on Phase 2 lands. Residents can submit comments on this request by July 5 on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO). The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing makes the decision.

  3. Millcroft Greens has submitted a separate application to the City for an Official Plan amendment and Plan of Subdivision for Phase 2 lands, to permit 138 singles and townhomes. City staff are required to review this application and make a recommendation to Council to either deny, approve or approve with conditions. Council must make a decision on this recommendation within 120 days or risk an appeal for non-decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal. Given these timelines, the staff recommendation is expected to come to Committee and Council for a decision by mid-September. Residents can participate and have your say in those meetings. In advance, you can email feedback to mgphase2@burlington.ca

The City has set up a dedicated webpage to bring all these matters together. You can find links to the ERO postings, the application for the Official Plan amendment and reference materials, and construction updates related to Phase 1 development. You can subscribe to the page to receive updates whenever new information is added. Visit this link to go to the page.
