Millcroft MZO Request Update

Earlier this spring, the City submitted a Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) Framework Request to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to protect the remaining greenspace in Millcroft. 

The requested MZO applies to the remaining Millcroft Golf Course lands that are not already subject to the Ontario Land Tribunal's approved development decision. The purpose of the City's request is to maintain the existing zoning on these lands and preserve their designation as open space. 

The posting of the City's request for public comment indicates that the province continues to consider the request. The City is encouraged that the matter remains under review. 

It is important to note that both the City and the developer have submitted separate MZO requests affecting the same remaining Millcroft lands. Information regarding both requests is available at www.burlington.ca/millcroftupdates. The City intends to submit comments through the provincial process on both requests, and Burlington residents are also encouraged to participate in the public commenting process.
