Development application received for Lakeside Plaza; open houses July 18, Aug. 8

The city has received an application to redevelop 3.84 hectares of land on the north side of Lakeshore Road (5353 Lakeshore Road) that currently contains a commercial retail plaza known as Lakeside Plaza.Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendment applications have been submitted that propose a mix of residential, office, service commercial and retail uses, including the retention of the existing food store.The overall redevelopment proposal includes a mix of single storey buildings (commercial uses), mid-rise buildings (4 to 11 storey) and three high-rise buildings (14 to 18 storey) that will provide 900 new residential units, 2700 square metres of office space and 11, 955 square metres of service commercial and retail uses.
